Ameri-Cover Meet ASTM Standards
Our pool covers have been officially tested by an independent laboratory (InterCity Testing and Consulting) and found to meet and exceed the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) F1346-91 specifications. Our safety mesh pool covers and solid vinyl pool covers passed the established performance tests with flying colors and meet the ASTM safety covers requirements for swimming pools, spas, hot tubs, and wading pools. When correctly installed and used in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions, this specification is intended to reduce the risk of drowning by inhibiting the access of children under five years of age to the water.
Many companies claim their pool covers meet this specification, but many have never been tested and few can prove it. This certification is not cheap, takes time, and it is not readily handed out. Our cover has gone the distance and earned the correct certifications to make this assertion. For your own protection, prior to ordering a safety cover from anyone, insist on seeing actual documentation from an independent testing organization that verifies the ASTM rating. This is important not only for obtaining a true safe cover, but also to meet county and state regulations. During review, the inspector cannot just take your manufacturer's word for it. Don't get caught with your bathing suit down, simply BELIEVING you have an approved safety cover; KNOW you have one!
